Canadian-American singer Rufus Wainwright will be taking to the stage at Dubai Opera for one night only on 6 December. As the son of folk singers Kate McGarrigle and Loudon Wanwright III, it’s not a surprise that Wainwright turned out to be a musical virtuoso. He began playing the piano at the age of six years old, and started touring at the age of 13.
He’s perhaps best known for his cover of Leonard Cohen’s song Hallellujah, but he’s also recorded seven studio albums and three live albums, as well as written a classical opera and set some of Shakespeare’s sonnets to music. The singer, composer and songwriter has been called one of the greatest male vocalists of his generation, and was the first solo artists to hold a five-concert residency at London’s Royal Opera House. Don’t miss your chance to see this unforgettable artist.
